Terms of use
Last updated: 29 September 2026
1. The service
Wingwait (wingwait.com) displays aircraft positions and related information from public ADS-B/MLAT broadcasts gathered by community networks. It is free to use. By using it you agree to these terms. Section 9 applies if you buy a Supporter membership.
2. Not for operational use
3. Acceptable use
Don't use Wingwait to harass, stalk or endanger anyone, or to interfere with aircraft, emergency services or law enforcement. Don't scrape or overload the site or its relay, and don't try to get around rate limits. You may embed or broadcast the stream view, including on monetised streams, if the on-screen data credits stay visible.
4. Data and credits
Aircraft data © the contributors of adsb.lol, made available under the Open Database Licence. Map data © OpenStreetMap contributors. Routes via adsbdb.com. Photos © their photographers via Planespotters.net. Wingwait's own design, text and code © Wingwait. Company names and trademarks mentioned belong to their owners, and mentioning them doesn't imply endorsement.
5. Advertising and links
The site shows ads from Google (not to Supporters) and links to other sites. We're not responsible for third-party content.
6. Availability
The free service is provided "as is" and "as available". We may change, suspend or withdraw free features at any time.
7. Liability
To the fullest extent the law allows, we're not liable for any loss arising from use of, or reliance on, Wingwait. We are not liable for indirect or consequential loss or loss of profits. Nothing in these terms excludes liability for death or personal injury caused by negligence, for fraud, or for anything else that can't be excluded by law. Your statutory rights as a consumer are unaffected.
8. Changes and law
We may update these terms, and the date above will change when we do. These terms are governed by the law of England and Wales, and the courts of England and Wales have jurisdiction. If you live in Scotland or Northern Ireland, you can also bring proceedings in your local courts.
9. Supporter membership
- What you get. No ads on wingwait.com, a supporter badge, and closed-app take-off and landing alerts on the devices where you turn them on. Everything that's free stays free.
- Price and renewal. £2.99 a month or £24 a year, including any VAT. Your membership renews automatically at the end of each period at the price then in force, and you'll be charged the card you gave Stripe. We'll give you at least 30 days' notice of any price change, and you can cancel before it applies. Yearly members get a reminder before each renewal.
- Cancelling. Cancel at any time, in two taps, from Settings → Manage membership. Your benefits continue until the end of the period you've paid for, and you won't be charged again.
- Your right to cancel (cooling-off). You have 14 days from the day you subscribe to cancel and get a full refund, with no reason needed. Just email [email protected] or cancel in Manage membership and ask for a refund. Because your benefits start straight away, if you cancel within those 14 days after using them we may deduct a small proportionate amount for the days you had.
- Alerts are best-effort. Alerts rely on public broadcasts and push services we don't control. They can arrive late or not at all (for example if an aircraft isn't in receiver coverage, or your phone blocks notifications), and "probably landed" alerts are estimates. Don't rely on them for anything important. If a paid feature stops working for a long time, we'll give you a refund for the affected period.
- Your restore code. Keep it private: anyone with it can use your membership on their device. Email us if it leaks and we'll issue a new one.
- Changes. If we make a material change to what Supporters get, we'll tell you in advance and you can cancel with a pro-rata refund.
- Ending memberships. We may end a membership that's used in breach of these terms (for example a shared restore code being sold), refunding any unused period.
Payments are processed by Stripe.
