Military aircraft tracker
Wingwait's Mil mode shows every military aircraft currently broadcasting ADS-B, worldwide, on one live map: C-17s crossing the Atlantic, tanker tracks over the North Sea, RC-135s off the Baltic coast.

- Role colours: tanker, ISR, bomber, fighter, transport, VIP, helicopter, trainer. Tap a role chip to filter.
- Country of registration from the aircraft's ICAO address block, with its flag.
- Callsign decoding for well-known patterns (RCH = US Air Mobility Command, FORTE = RQ-4, NATO, ASCOT = RAF).
- Orbit detection: flags racetrack patterns typical of tankers and ISR.
- Hotspots: one tap to the Black Sea, Baltic, Eastern Med, Gulf, Taiwan Strait and more, with live counts.
- Position quality: whether each position is ADS-B or MLAT, its accuracy class and its age.
Why can't I see every military flight?
Aircraft on sensitive taskings often disable ADS-B or broadcast without a position. What you see is what's willingly transmitting, which is still a surprising amount. Coverage also depends on volunteer receivers being in range.
Questions
Where does the military data come from?
From adsb.lol, an open community network whose database flags military airframes. It doesn't filter them out, so what's broadcast is shown.
Can I get alerts for military aircraft near me?
Yes. Turn on Overhead alerts in Settings. Military aircraft passing within about 8 km trigger a notification while Wingwait is open.
